Last Week's Kid Robot Show
So last week, the Yo Gabba clan and myself participated in this big woop-de-doo Kid Robot event at the Standard. What an honor hob-nob at such a hoit-toity event.

So we took a "Dunny" and made it look like Brobee.

I got triple-dog-dared by Mike DelaVega to stick my tongue on the "Ice Dunny"

Stuck! Stuck? Stuuuuuuuuuuuucckk!!!!

Strange Manor - The Christmas Album (Vol. 1)!
A++

I've been obsessed with Christmas music this year. Which makes me sad to say that the G13 Christmas EP didn't happen. Oh well, maybe next year...
Anyhow, my brother Christian lent this CD to me last week and I was SO stoked. One of his Phenomenaut buddies gave it to him. It features members of the Aggrolites, Phenomenauts, the Struts, the Soul Captives and Go Jimmy Go. This is my #1 holiday pick this year. The bluebeat, rocksteady, northern soul, and straight up true to the classics of pop-Christmas yester year( c'mon, The Chipmunks!!) seriously satisfied just what I've been pining for this Christmas. Obviously not the most professionally recorded album but the musicianship and orchestration is still top notch. There is definitely a fun, family-type feel that comes through on this recording that makes me wish that I too lived at Strange Manor. Thanks guys and merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas from Moneybrother!
Hardcore Monster fans like me should get a kick out of this song...
It's a reworking of their B-side "Falling in Love".
English Beat-inspired track from... The SHINS?!
Check out this B-side (to Phantom Limb) by The Shins "Split Needles (Alt Version)". I was blown away to hear how rocking, energetic and almost ska-y it is! Especially if you've heard the original version. You can definitely hear "Mirror in the Bathroom" in there... plus I love the new-wavey keyboards... awesome.
Download it here via prefixmag.com
"Wincing The Night Away" isn't out until January, but like most of the other evil pirates out there, I've been rocking it for the past couple of months. And... IT. IS. AWESOME.

Los Straitjackets - God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen
Aaaah so appropriate, so festive. Dig the "Runaway" lick thrown in there. That's good enough to make Del Shannon want to unkill himself.
.....uh...HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYBODY!

Christmas with the Vandals
so not the most original choice for a christmas song but it is still one of my favourites so in it goes.
Fishbone - It's A Wonderful Life
OK, so Thanksgiving is over and I love Christmas! Look forward to some G13 Christmas surprises this year. We're really trying...
Let's kick this holiday season off with some Fishbone, shall we?
