So my brother was in this short film that his friend Corky Quackenbush made back in 1989. It's pretty funny. I happen to have a VCR hooked up to my computer right now, so I thought why not YouTube it?

So I had to break it into two parts because YouTube wouldn't allow videos over 10 minues each... so watch it in order or you'll be all messed up.

Back in my Professor days with the Aquabats, fill-in guitarist Macaroni AKA Scott from Suburban Rhythm once told me that he thought I was a lot like Eric Stefani. I thought that that was the greatest compliment anyone could ever have given me. Even aside from No Doubt, I've always thought he was pretty brilliant.

80's new wave pop video treasure trove

As I mentioned in my last post, my older siblings used to tape videos off Video One (with Richard Blade) back in the day... This period lasted between '83 and '85 (I was born in '77 just so you know). We had volumes and volumes of Betamaxx tapes full of the hottest new wave, pop and rock videos of the day. I used to watch these when I had nothing else to do. Watching the Cure sing "Let's Go To Bed" was just as entertaining to me as watching Bert and Ernie or the Great Space Coaster.

So with the magic of YouTube I decided to compile a playlist of every video I could remember that we had on tap. This isn't an exhaustive list by any means. I'm sure I'm forgetting tons (Parka? any suggestions?), and there were a few I couldn't find ("Ride The White Pony" or "State of Shock" by the Jacksons for example). But I figure 150 videos ain't too bad.

Keep in mind, for every great video in this list, there's a real stinker. A few I didn't even want to put on here, but I had no choice. :) So if you have time and want to peek into my childhood musical tastes, check it out!!

Mental As Anything - Spirit Got Lost (1984)

This video is a lost treasure to the Jacobs family.
We taped it off of Richard Blade's local video show, "Video One" Looking at it today, one would say it's super hokey, but us Jacobs boys thought it was super rad! We watched it a lot. Tyler accidentally taped over it and we all got mad. Tyler found this on youtube and has paid a weighty 22 year debt.
